About Us

Located North of Richmond, Virginia

Labradors have been the love of my life since my first black lab, Nicki, when I was a little girl. In 2008 I finally got my first English style Labrador, Oscar. In 2010 it was time to get Oscar a younger playmate  and that is when I brought Liberty, my foundation girl, home. She changed my life and because of her I am here today breeding Labradors! I've studied canine nutrition (2 completed courses through Dogs Naturally Magazine) and am currently studying homeopathy under Will Falconer, DVM to help my Labradors live a longer and healthier life!

Naturally Raised

Whenever possible, my dogs are treated naturally. They receive their puppy vaccines  and after that, rabies, only because it is the law. Follow Dr. John Robb of Protect the Pets to learn more about titers and to help us get the outdated rabies laws changed. My puppies are whelped and raised in my home and stay with me until they are 10 weeks old. They are weaned onto a raw diet and receive their first vaccine (parvo & distemper ONLY) and are micro chipped before leaving us.

Donated Puppies

I try to reserve at least 1 puppy from each litter to be donated to become a service dog. To date, I have donated dogs to paws4people foundation and Assistance Dogs of the West. I'm very proud of our service dogs, GUS, ELLA, SAYLOR, HEART, Sandia & Georgia

Education

I am constantly studying nutrition and health for my dogs as well as myself. My goal is to raise healthy dogs that live to be in their late teens or even into their 20's.

Please contact me if you have any questions. I don't care if I didn't breed your dog! I am here to help anyone wanting help with their dog's health.

See more information on the bottom of this page for course work I've taken.

Barra Dogs Health

I believe dogs should be fed a species appropriate diet. Raw or BARF. I realize not everyone can afford to do this so I hope to help people learn how to supplement with natural foods to help aid in the longevity and health of their pets.

I also believe that we are over vaccinating our dogs! You need to be your dog's advocate and speak for him/her! People need to be educated in titers and understand what vaccines are needed and how they should be administered.

Dog Shows

My dogs compete in conformation dog shows. They have competed in both AKC and UKC venues. Lynyrd is my most winning Labrador in the conformation ring.

Other Competition Venues

My dogs have competed in dock diving, obedience, working certificates and are working on competing in barn hunt and lure coursing later this year.

Labradors Only Come in 3 Colors

Do not be duped into believing there are rare colors in the Labrador. Black, Yellow (which ranges from a light cream color to a dark Fox Red color) and Chocolate. Any other color and it is NOT a pure bred Labrador Retriever.

Puppy Raising

Early Scent Training & ENS

When the puppies are 3 days old until they are 16 days old, a new scent is given to each puppy every day.

Early Neurological Stimulation

Adventure Box

Rules of Seven

My puppies are exposed to a minimum of seven of the following: 7 textures, 7 surfaces, 7 foods, 7 sounds

they will meet other dogs, hear gun shots and go swimming if the pool is open and it is not too cold for them.

The Great Outdoors

They have a large fenced in area to romp in when the weather is nice. This area is filled with lots of obstacles, such as tunnels, slides, ramps, children's play sets, skate boards, etc. Once they are 4 weeks old they spend as much time outside as the weather permits
